time flies!

Wow, we can hardly believe that it's been so long since our last posting. We have been busy and having a great time photographing weddings and family portraits. And fitting in some really great continuing education classes - keeping up with current trends and techniques to serve you better.

We had a blast shooting photos for holiday cards and we get to work with them again soon for a family portrait session. This family includes two very active and fun loving little boys. Luke is 4 years old and Logan is two years old. Mom and dad, Amber and Nathan wanted a casual relaxed feel and so our location included a pond and lots of rocks. We had the opportunity to put into practice one of our recent classes. This is a strobist effect taught by Ed Pingol, from the Bay Area. Rose Hyc of Dixon - a fellow photographer, arranged the class at her studio. Thanks Rose it was a great day!

We wanted to include a couple of shots of the boys on our blog.

This is Luke, looking very GQ.

Who thought falling leaves could be so much fun?

Mom & Dad (Nate and Amber) Were so patient and relaxed. Our time spent with them was fun! We hope you enjoyed these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them.

Camera Arts hosts mini trade show

This past Saturday Charlie & I attended the Mini Trade show hosted by Marquita & Ginny of Camera Arts. Camera Arts is located at 712 57th Street, Sacramento, 916-736-3084. If you've never visited this store, you don't know what you're missing. Marquita & Ginny have an amazing staff, they are friendly, very knowledgeable and provide fantastic service. We always get the answers to our questions. While we were there we met Dave Erickson the rep for Elinchrom lighting, Micro Sync and Gitzo. He was very informative about a new product Elinchrom is introducing in a few months - it's similar to Micro Sync & Pocket Wizard, but theirs operates on gigahertz rather than megahertz. Randy Harris was there to represent Sekonic and Pocket Wizard among other products.Harlean Dischler talked with us about Wescott & Novatron lighting systems and the Expo Disc. We also spent time with the Canon rep Neil Chapman, who hinted that there where great new products coming soon. We couldn't get any specifics at this time. Thank You Camera Arts for hosting this event, we had a good time and gathered great information, the product demonstration was great.
While we were there we ran into fellow shopper/photographer Allison Stahl and Margret Gorman. We just recently became acquainted with Margaret, we are enrolled in the same class being taught by Bonita Chimes, owner/photographer of View Finders. If your interested in a photographic excursion or workshop you should check out her schedule. Bonnie can be reached at 916-988-7887.

Other Interests

Charlie with Chuck LaForte & his son

Beside our love of photography, we also share an interest in cooking/food. There is something very satisfying in cooking and seeing others enjoy the fruits of your labor - love it. A couple of years ago Charlie was invited to serve as pit master for a BBQ team. The first year our team consisted of Charlie, Don & Julia Gibbs and myself. (trophy for ribs) After the first competition Charlie was hooked and refined his recipes and process. The second year The Gibb's were unavailable so Charlie teamed up with Chuck LaForte, they cooked and I made a Raspberry Chipotle sauce and was the runner. (trophy for pork loin with my sauce). It's great to have the opportunity to meet all those great people and have some fun. Hope you are all having a great summer.

Sharing

We hope that through this space you'll have a chance to get to know us. So sit down have a up of tea and lets chat. We have been married 22 years - yahoo! Currently we reside in Lincoln, CA. We are pursing our mutual passion for photography - Focused On You Photography. We are so blessed by the opportunity to share in your lives. Whether we're spending a couple hours together for a portrait or longer to cover the event of a life time - your wedding. It is a great experience to share and we thank you. You are not just a client, we consider you our friends.

Abbey

Unconditional love - definition see Abbey. She is my constant shadow. She thinks I need a protector and she has appointed herself to the job. She is very wary, but also has such a sweet side. Like some people, it takes a while to get to know her. She is so good about sharing - she is now sharing her back yard with a stray cat who about 18 months ago adopted us. But that's another entry.

baby steps

Charlie & Mori (CharMo) Hunter

Charlie & I attended a photographer's group meeting tonight, and I want to take this opportunity to thank Carlos for his encouragement and Rose for her one on one assistance to get us started with our blog. Have you ever just put something off because it might seem difficult or you just didn't know very much about it - well that's where we were with the blog issue. Now that they have us up and running, we are excited to see where this will lead us next. Look at us we even got a photo loaded!

Our New Blog!

Wow!  With a little help from our friend we now have a blog.  This is great stuff, will add more later.
